Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) has hired Dr. Wayne C. Miller to serve as the University’s Provost and Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Miller is slated to begin his work at PNWU in June.
“PNWU’s mission to educate and train health care professionals to serve among rural and underserved communities is engrained in me,” said Dr. Miller, referencing his previous work with low-income and underserved communities in subsidized housing in Washington, D.C., and with disadvantaged families in rural Appalachia. “I worked at four different institutions during my career, and at each place I learned something new that relates directly to the opportunities at PNWU. Now, I am prepared to help PNWU complete its evolution as a university of health sciences.”
Having most recently served as the Dean of Morehead State University’s College of Science, Dr. Miller now prepares to help PNWU maintain mission success while initiating and strengthening new programs and forging additional community partnerships.
“Dr. Miller is an accomplished teacher, researcher, author, and leader who will help PNWU grow and strengthen its mission,” said Dr. Michael Lawler, president of PNWU. “We are eager to work with and learn from him.”
