Michael Dean, DMD, Associate Professor of Dentistry

Dr. Michael Dean is a dedicated dental professional and educator with a career spanning over three decades. A native of Buckley, Washington, Dr. Dean earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

For 29 years, Dr. Dean practiced general dentistry in Kennewick, Washington, earning a reputation for excellence and patient-centered care. A graduate of the Kois Center in Seattle and a 25-year member of the Seattle Study Club, he continually advanced his expertise in the field.

In 2018, Dr. Dean transitioned to academia, bringing his extensive clinical experience to the classroom. Over six years, he taught at the University of Tennessee and the University of Texas at San Antonio, driven by a passion for mentoring the next generation of dental professionals. His teaching reflects a commitment to sharing the knowledge and skills he gained from his mentors and a lifelong dedication to advancing dental care and education.

Jennifer Domagalski, DMD, MPH, FAGD, Assistant Professor of Dentistry

Dr. Jennifer Domagalski received her dental and MPH degree in 2010 from A.T. Still University.  Upon graduation, she joined the Arctic Slope Native Association in Barrow, Alaska where she worked until late 2015. In September 2016, she completed a Dental Public Health Residency through NYU-Lutheran Medical Center.  She and her family moved to Tri-Cities, Washington in September 2016.  She has worked with Tri-Cities Community Health, Columbia Basin College, Charter College, and owned Discount Dental, a dental clinic serving the uninsured and underinsured. She has devoted her career to serving the underserved and looks forward to mentoring dental students to become a much-needed part of the dental safety net.

Pantip Henprasert, DDS, MS, Assistant Professor of Dentistry, Prosthodontics Specialist

Dr. Pantip Henprasert earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Thammasat University in Thailand, where she also served as a faculty member before pursuing advanced studies. She obtained a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Oral Science from The University of Iowa. Dr. Henprasert began her academic career at The University of Iowa as a Clinical Assistant Professor.

Dr. Henprasert has experience teaching pre-doctoral courses in prosthodontics and supervising both undergraduate and graduate prosthodontic clinics. From 2022 to 2024, she served as the Prosthodontics Clerkship Director at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry for the undergraduate prosthodontic clinic. Her research focuses on digital dentistry.

In addition, Dr. Henprasert is a member of professional societies such as the American College of Prosthodontists and the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.

Renata Monteiro, DDS, PhD, MSc, Assistant Professor of Dentistry

Dr. Renata Monteiro is an Assistant Professor of Dentistry in the School of Dental Medicine. She describes herself as a dentist, teacher, and scientific researcher. Her guiding principle is evidence-based dentistry, which involves making clinical decisions based on critically evaluating scientific literature according to patient needs. Her teaching philosophy centers around creating a helpful and safe learning environment that empowers students to develop independent learning interests and clinical thinking skills for successful clinical practice.

Dr. Monteiro received her DDS from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Brazil and her MSc and PhD in Restorative Dentistry from the Federal University of Santa Catarina, also in Brazil. Her experience as a visiting scholar at the University of Toronto during her PhD was transformative in reframing her understanding of the potential of research to improve patient care. This experience motivated her to move to North America, where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Louisville.

She constantly seeks opportunities for continued personal growth to provide excellent patient care and student clinical education.
