Technology Services offers limited internships for local area students looking for experience and course credits. Typical work that an intern would expect to perform includes:
- Supervised interactions with staff, faculty, and students assisting with technical issues on our help desk. Issues can include troubleshooting Windows, Mac, and iPad issues, print services, classroom A/V, and telephones.
- Shadow out network engineers on projects that include active directory, firewalls, routers, and other hardware and network architecture.
- Low voltage cabling of new offices and buildings.
- Mentoring from experienced IT leaders and practitioners.
Among the things we’re looking for in qualified applicants:
- Good communication skills, which includes clear, concise assistance and empathy for those experiencing technical issues.
- Experience working with and troubleshooting technical issues on Windows (primarily), Macs, and iOS devices.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and 365 applications and services.
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in information technology, computer science, or related field.
