The Department of GME Research assists residency programs with Accreditation for the Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements of scholarly activity and Osteopathic Recognition. The research facilitator provides guidance to the COM and residency programs to meet these requirements by providing tools, training, and support within the four main components of ACGME requirements publishing, presenting, and creating scholarly work, as well as journal club activities. As a result, there is an improvement in their skill sets of evidence-based medicine, quality improvement, interpret and present current literature, critical analysis of literature, formal presentations, which can result in sound research design and scholarly activity.
