COM Oath and Hooding Ceremony 2025

COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

May 17, 2025 I Capitol Theatre I 1:30pm

We’re thrilled to celebrate the achievements of our graduates alongside their families, friends, and mentors. This ceremony honors each graduate’s dedication and accomplishments that have led them to this occasion today. Congratulations to all—today, we celebrate your hard work and bright futures!

Guest Hooders

The College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) invites graduating students to have an immediate family member with a DO or MD designation participate in their ceremonial hooding. Eligible family members include a spouse, parent, sibling, grandparent, or legal guardian.

Graduates must indicate their guest hooder on the Graduation Application, provide their details, and specify if they will wear their own regalia or rent through Oak Hall. Each graduate may have up to two guest hooders, counted toward their six allotted tickets.

Regalia

Guest hooders must wear academic regalia, which can be rented or self-provided. Rental regalia will be available for pickup on campus the Friday before commencement. The deadline to place rental orders is TBD.

Ceremony Instructions

Guest hooders should arrive one hour before the ceremony to line up with their graduate for the processional. During the hooding ceremony, they will join their graduate on stage, hood them, and then return to the audience.
