Guest Information | PNWU Commencement & Hoodings
We are excited to invite you to join us in celebrating your graduate’s achievements at the upcoming commencement and hoodings ceremonies! As we prepare for this momentous occasion, we encourage you to review the important information provided below, including ticket allocation, request procedures, and seating arrangements. These details are intended to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for us as we honor this significant milestone together.
TICKETING & STREAMING
Please find the specific ticket details for each ceremony outlined below. If your graduate requires additional tickets, they can submit a request through their Graduation Application. While we will make every effort to accommodate these requests, we cannot guarantee availability. Ticket notifications will be sent to their PNWU email account in April.
University Commencement Ceremony
- Location: Yakima Convention Center
- Each graduate is allotted up to 10 tickets for family and friends.
- Children under two who can sit comfortably on a lap do not require a ticket and will not count toward your ticket total.
Hooding Ceremonies
Location: Capitol Theatre
- Master of Arts in Medical Sciences: Unlimited tickets, open, unassigned seating.
- School of Physical Therapy: Unlimited tickets, open, unassigned seating.
- Military Promotions: No tickets required.
- College of Osteopathic Medicine: Each graduate is allotted up to 6 tickets, open unassigned seating
Location: Delta Dental Equity Hall
- School of Occupational Therapy (Aug 16): Unlimited tickets, open, unassigned seating.
Please note:
- Guest hooders and accessible seating will count toward your allotted ticket limit.
- Capitol Theatre Children’s Area: The Robertson Room, located on the lower level of the theater, will be available as a children’s area for young guests who need space to move around. Please note, an adult must stay with the child at all times, as this is not a drop-off childcare facility.
- Ushers will be available on the day of the event to assist with seating.
LIVE STREAMING
A live streaming option is available for family members and friends who are unable to attend the ceremonies in person, or who do not have a ticket. You can easily access the live stream through the PNWU website. Please ensure you have a stable internet connection for the best live streaming experience.

ACCESSIBILITY
The Yakima Convention Center is fully ADA accessible throughout the facility. Please note that the Capitol Theatre has limited accessibility. We encourage you to share your needs with your graduate before they submit the Graduation Application.

VENUE ETIQUETTE
As we gather for the ceremony, we kindly ask everyone to observe the following etiquette: please refrain from bringing balloons, sound devices (such as megaphones or air horns), and signs. Additionally, we request that guests do not climb over seats or stand on chairs in order to maintain a safe and respectful environment. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
