MAMS Graduation Requirements

Congratulations, you are in your final days of your program. Please review the information below and make sure everything is completed by graduation. Use the plus signs (+) to expand each section and review the information provided.

Self-Service Checklist (graduation requirements)

Monitor your Checklist on Self-Service regularly to ensure degree requirements are complete.

ALL Checklist items must be completed before the Registrar’s Office is able to award your degree and mail your diploma. The Registrar’s Office will be begin conferring degrees the week after the commencement ceremony, and will begin sending diplomas the week following (two weeks after commencement). Questions can be directed to registrar@pnwu.edu.

Final responsibility for meeting degree requirements and Self-Service Checklist items resides with the student.


  • Complete the graduation application by March 1
    • The graduation application will open soon, and you will notified via email when it is live. Questions can be directed to the Registrar’s Office at registrar@pnwu.edu
  • Add diploma mailing address in Self-Service prior to May 1
    • Complete this item regardless whether you would like to use your current address or a different address
    • Graduates will receive a printed version and a CeDiploma (electronic version) after all degree and graduation requirements are completed successfully. See Diplomas page for details.
      • Printed diplomas will be mailed to the diploma address provided in Self-Service, and can take up to eight weeks to receive after mailed
      • CeDiplomas will be delivered to your PNWU email
    • Login to Self-Service portal > hover over your name in top right corner of screen > select Profile > select the Address tab > click Blue Plus sign > first field, select Diploma Address > complete form and SAVE
  • Order regalia if you are participating in the commencement ceremony by April
    • Orders are due by April. You will be notified via email when order sites are live
    • Regalia is required, must have gown, hood, and mortarboard (cap)
    • You can connect with previous PNWU graduates if they are willing to sell or allow you to borrow their regalia
    • Link to place order, click the Graduation Home link under Quick links, and will be under Prepare for Commencement section.
  • Clear Financial Obligations
    • Pay any outstanding charges on your student account using the Finances Make a Payment button of your Self-Service portal
    • This item will be cleared the week after commencement
  • Complete Federal Student Loan Exit Counseling
    • This online session is required by the Federal government for those who took out federal student financial aid
    • Financial Aid will receive a list of completed counseling and Registrar will update the student’s Checklist on Self-Service
    • PNWU Financial Aid is always available for questions and counseling regarding your loan debt. A PNWU specific group presentation will be held during the events on the Friday before graduation
  • PNWU Graduation Survey (optional)
    • Survey will be available in June.

MAMS commencement participation is optional. All ceremonies will be held at the Capitol Theatre in downtown Yakima, WA (19 S 3rd St). Visit the PNWU Commencement Day Details website for additional information.

  • Participation in Commencement is optional for MAMS students. You will specify your participation on the Graduation Application, due March 1
  • Professional attire- you will be standing, walking in and outdoors, and climbing steps so wear sensible shoes.
  • Graduates should arrive to the venue one hour prior to the ceremony start time. Use the 4th street entrance (back stage door) of the Capitol Theatre
  • Graduates should have their steamed, wrinkle free graduation regalia with them (gown, mortar board (cap), and tassel)
  • After the ceremony graduates, family, and friends are invited to gather outside the front entrance of the Capitol Theatre for photos and celebration

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• In the weeks that follow, it is very important to continue checking your PNWU email in the case we need to communicate with you about your graduation requirements
• Verification forms requiring a degree verification will be completed and sent after degrees are awarded. You may email your verification form to registrar@pnwu.edu
• Final transcripts that require a degree posted can be requested now by visiting the PNWU Student Forms page, under the Student Records section. Please select the “After degree is posted” option
