The first-ever PNWU homecoming event celebrated the tenth anniversary of PNWU’s inaugural class graduation and honored one of the University’s leading founders.
PNWU recently hosted our first ever alumni homecoming reunion. The gathering recognized the decade that has passed since the graduation of our inaugural Class of 2012.
Over the course of two days, members of that pioneering class — alongside family, current and former PNWU staff, faculty, trustees and more — gathered to recollect over a decade of unforgettable memories.
“It’s hard to overstate the critical importance of this inaugural class, filled with student doctors who took risks in attending our fledgling University and then built our reputation with their excellence in the clinic as physicians,” said PNWU President Michael Lawler, PhD, in a statement promoting the festivities. “We owe a debt of gratitude to the Class of 2012.”
Around 100 people attended the cheerful gathering, which included a silent auction that raised nearly $9K in support of PNWU student scholarships.
Brian Nelson, PNWU Class of 2012, described the gathering as “a ten-year step back in time, but more of a step back to timeless conversation and good company.”
The event also offered attendees a chance to honor the birthday of Dr. Robert Sutton, former PNWU interim president, who’s formative and ongoing contributions to PNWU are immeasurable.
“The weekend was an absolute blast!” exclaimed Chanda Anderson, PNWU’s alumni services coordinator. “For the first time in several years, I felt like we were able to celebrate a milestone of the university. It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since the first class graduated.”
