Student-Led Clinic Offers Convenient Vaccination Opportunity for Campus Community

On Tuesday, October 18, from noon- 3 p.m., PNWU’s Infectious Disease Club will once again host its annual vaccine clinic in Butler-Haney Hall’s Grand Foyer. Organizers hope the event offers a convenient and centrally-located opportunity for busy PNWU and WSU students, faculty, and staff to receive their required vaccinations with minimal disruption to their daily schedules.

“Events like our vaccine clinic help reduce barriers to vaccination for the campus community,” explained PNWU Student Doctor Jacob Darley, OMS II, who serves as president of the student-led Infectious Disease Club. “The CDC has warned of the potential for a more severe influenza season this year, and the vaccine is an excellent way to reduce both personal and community risk.”

Local pharmacy Tieton Village Pharmacy Services offers the influenza vaccine at a discounted rate ($35), and many insurance plans cover the entirety of the cost. Organizers ask those who would like to be vaccinated to bring their insurance cards and recommend participants complete the necessary paperwork in advance (not required).

If you would like to volunteer to administer vaccines at the event, or for any questions or comments, please contact Student Doctor Jacob Darley (jdarley@pnwu.edu).
