Dr. William Elliott, PNWU’s chair of biomedical sciences and chief of pharmacology, was recently named the 2022 Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion Item Writer of the Year by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME). In a release announcing the honor, the NBOME listed him as a productive item writer who consistently writes items that test difficult concepts in high-need areas.
“Dr. Elliott has distinguished himself as a valued and consistent contributor to the NBOME for many years,” said Dr. Thomas Scandalis, dean of PNWU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine. “In representing PNWU, he has brought visibility and credibility to our institution. It is particularly noteworthy that he has been recognized this year as the Item Writer of the Year in the domains of Preventive Medicine and Health Promotion.”
Each year, the NBOME selects the best-in-class item writers and case authors from a large group of contributors whose work supports our mission to protect the public through osteopathic competency assessment.
Congratulations, Dr. Elliott!
