Confidence, Creativity, and Clinical Reasoning

PNWU-SOPT Class of 2025 Students Complete Integrated Clinical Experience Course

Our Class of 2025 recently completed their on-campus Integrated Clinical Experience course.

The course, which involves treating clients from the community with neurological conditions, is overseen by Dr. Tiffany Salido with several clinicians from Yakima serving as clinical instructors.

For 8-10 weeks each semester, PNWU DPT student treat two clients alongside one or two of their SOPT peers.

In the end, 45 total clients were served this year, with diagnoses ranging from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson disease, among others.

“The growth in confidence, creativity, and clinical reasoning in the students was incredible,” said Dr. Trueblood. “The experience was immensely beneficial for the students and the community members who participated, and we are looking forward to another great year with the rising second year cohort!”
