This week, Polly Wiltz, DO, PNWU-COM Class of 2022, was awarded the Doctors for America (DFA) Founders Award for Excellence. The honor recognizes Dr. Wiltz’s ongoing commitment to medically underserved communities.
“I am so honored to have been selected for this award, and to have received it from the U.S Surgeon General himself,” said Dr. Wiltz.
Now a second-year resident physician in Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, OH, Dr. Wiltz continues her tireless championing of causes such as immigrant health, gun violence prevention and reduction, and increased reproductive health access for marginalized communities. Her career goals include expanding into health policy and population health to create and influence legislation that protect health and human rights for people living in the United States.
Dr. Wiltz was celebrated during the DFA’s 2024 National Leadership Conference, which was hosted in Silver Spring, MD June 6-8. Doctors for America is a 501(c)(3) national, multi-specialty organization with a stated mission to mobilize doctors and medical students “to be leaders in putting patients over politics on the pressing issues of the day to improve the health of our patients, communities, and nation. of improving affordable health care access.”
