Last month, PNWU-SDM Founding Dean Dr. Fotinos visited Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth, UK, spending time with the Head of School (Dean), Professor Ewen McColl, and his team, visiting clinical and educational sites and discussing the similarities between the respective programs.
Peninsula Dental School is one of the newest dental schools in the UK, and it has a mission to improve dental health in the southern part of the UK through treatment, education, community, and training.
“Both of our institutions aim to address dental care access issues in rural and underserved communities by implementing innovative educational models that emphasize community-based primary care training and service,” explained Dr. Panagakos.
Professor McColl recently published a short article on Dr. Panagakos’ visit in the British Dental Journal.
The SDM is excited to develop this partnership with Peninsula Dental School, seeking to enhance dental education and improve community health outcomes through shared strategies and collaborative research.
