The Yakima Valley College (YVC) Dental Hygiene Program recently visited PNWU for a campus tour. On two different dates the group, which included junior and senior students, as well as faculty members Ms. Lacey Webber, Ms. Deborah Gould, and Ms. Jaclyn Johnson, had the opportunity to explore the innovative Washington State Dental Association Simulation Lab. A highlight of the visit was the SIMtoCare machine, which allowed them to virtually prep a tooth with caries using virtual reality technology.
Our School of Dental Medicine (SDM) has a partnership with the YVC Dental Hygiene Program. As part of this collaboration, SDM students will receive hygiene training at the YVC Dental Hygiene Clinic.
We are grateful for our strong connection with the YVC Dental Hygiene Program and are optimistic that our collaboration will further our mission of enhancing dental care in rural and underserved areas.
