Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Principles and Practice Dr. Litchfield comes from Lewiston, Idaho. He served as a medic in the US Army for 2 years. After returning, he completed his pre-med and chemistry major requirements at Walla Walla University. He earned his D.O. degree at Kansas City (now known as KCUMB), and completed an Internship at Eastmoreland General Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
In 1978, he accepted an invitation to join Dr. Lee Ghormley’s family medicine practice (Dr. Ghormley was also the Radiologist at a small Osteopathic Hospital in Yakima). After 3 years, Dr. Litchfield purchased his office and then practiced Family Medicine in Yakima for more than 30 years. He was certified in Family Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Throughout all his years in practice, he maintained memberships in the AOA and in WOMA.
