Dr. Monosky currently serves as the Director of the Northwest Interprofessional Health Collaborative as well as a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine in the College of Medicine at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Monosky earned his PhD at The George Washington University in Washington, DC in the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration with a focus on Health Policy. He earned his master’s degree in Public Management of Health Systems at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Behavioral Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Monosky has had a long tenure in Emergency Medical Services and Paramedicine, spanning over 50 years. Prior to his faculty appointment at PNWU, he held the position of Program Director of the EMS Paramedicine Program and tenured professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Central Washington University from 2008 until January of 2018. Previously, he held positions as the Program Director for the graduate program in Emergency Services Management at The George Washington University in Washington DC where he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. In addition, he also served as the Director of Operations for a large for-profit EMS agency, an EMS Specialist for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a Research Coordinator for the University of Pittsburgh, an instructor for the Center for Emergency Medicine in Pittsburgh, and the Director of EMS for the McKeesport Hospital EMS System.
Dr. Monosky served on a number of regional, state, and national committees and organizations, including the National EMS Advisory Council which advises the principal federal agencies in matters of emergency medical care in the nation. In addition, he served as a principal investigator and investigative lead in several research endeavors in interprofessional practice and education, as well as prehospital clinical trials. He is also an author of several texts, articles, and instructional videos related to EMS and Paramedicine.
