Dr. Yoshioka received BA degrees in Biological Sciences and Visual Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and an MS degree in Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) before attending Penn State University (PSU) College of Medicine for her PhD in Anatomy.
Dr. Yoshioka’s research interests are two-fold: she is interested in both educational and basic science research projects. At UIC, her research involved developing and testing an interactive timeline depicting events of body cavity partitioning in embryonic development with graduate and dental students. At PSU, she studied the role of a G-protein coupled receptor kinase in endochondral ossification utilizing both in vivo and in vitro models.
Prior to joining PNWU, Dr. Yoshioka taught undergraduate anatomy and physiology I &II at UMBC, graduate and medical student anatomy and embryology at UIC, and human gross anatomy, histology, neuroanatomy, and embryology to residents, physician assistant, medical, and graduate students at PSU.
