The library at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences provides access to electronic resources (eResources) such as databases, journals, and books to current students, faculty, and staff in accordance with license agreements with eResource vendors. PNWU students, faculty, and staff may log in remotely using their PNWU network username and password.
Limited access may be available to eligible PNWU-affiliated residents, interns, and adjunct clinical faculty. PNWU-affiliated users may request remote access to licensed eResources.
Users may not share passwords or otherwise allow access to PNWU licensed resources to unauthorized users. Violation of license agreements with eResource vendors could result in suspension of access to eResources for an individual or for the entire PNWU community.
While license agreements vary, many have the following allowances and restrictions in common.
Generally allowed
For an authorized user’s personal, educational, or research use
Limited downloading or printing (subject to copyright restrictions)
Sharing information with other PNWU authorized users (current students, faculty, and staff)
Posting links to content
Access to content by library walk-in users
Generally NOT allowed
Systematic or excessive downloading or copying
Posting content on the Internet
Mass distribution of materials (print or electronic)
Commercial use
Sharing copies with unauthorized users
Databases and other eResources are protected by contractual license agreements and by US Copyright Law. Please refer to the PNWU Library’s Copyright Resources web page for more information. Keep in mind that license agreements may impose restrictions in addition to those imposed by copyright law. Please contact the PNWU library staff if you have additional questions.
