Yakima’s University
Pacific Northwest University (PNWU) was established in 2005 as a grassroots initiative—created by our community, for our community.
Our mission is to educate and train health care providers to serve rural and medically underserved areas of the Pacific Northwest.
Your health care provider might be one of our over 1,500 graduates – many of our alumni are practicing in the Yakima area.

PNWU’S Mission Targets Five Pacific Northwest States:
Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Washington
Healthcare providers from rural areas are more likely to practice in that area after graduation. That’s why PNWU seeks to recruit nearby students. Our local students are passionate about finding solutions to health problems in their communities, and they are dedicated to learning how to heal the people they grew up with.
If you know anyone interested in our mission to serve the Northwest, we would love to have them apply!
